Great Weekend

On Friday's in this household, the boys like to have pizza for dinner. There are alot of Dominos and Papa Johns down here but the boys found the closest thing to New York Pizza. It's called Joe's Pizza. They always get 2 pies, 1 cheese and 1 pepperoni. Between the night and the next morning, both the pies are gone! All week, the boys were so excited for Joes! On Saturday, Charles and I went to the shooting range, yes with a gun. I was nervous initially but it was actually hard! It was alittle scary also but it was also fun. It is not as easy as it looks to just shoot a gun because you really need to hold the gun strong so that the gun doesn't flop back and hit you. I had more hits on the target then Charles did, but his target was further away.

We then went golfing at a golf course in Killeen. The 3 of us played scramble and it was so much fun. I got Most Improved and Charles and Terence were Co-MVP's. I was happy with my performance because I did much better this time then last week. After golf, we came home and made dinner together like one little family. Charles made delicious t-bone steaks, Terence made his favorite meal, Velvetta Mac and Cheese, and I made a veggie. The steaks were so good, we did not stop talking about them all weekend! After dinner, Matt and Danelle came over and we just hung out and watched TV. We had such a great night and so much fun!

When we woke up on Sunday, the house was a disaster! But the 3 of us just laid on the couches all day and watched TV. We were very exciting for the evening events: It was the beginning of Shark Week, True Blood, and Entourage. After we watched the shows, we all went to bed!

This is Terences last week in Texas! He leaves next Monday to head to Missouri for about 6 months. He does not have to work this week so he is just packing up and catching up on sleep and TV! I am sure that we will have a fun week! Charles is off on Friday so hopefully we can go golfing! There is a water park outside Austin that Charles has been talking about. Maybe we will head to Austin for the weekend! We shall see! It is now time to turn on Shark week and clean up this house!! I wish Amparo could come to Texas!

Quick Week

I can not believe it is Friday already. Charles Commander had a baby 2 nights ago so we went to the hospital to see them. I was happy we went because they are both from Oklahoma and do not have any family here. They had a girl, Alyson Marie i think, she was 6lbs 10oz, and 21.25 in long. She looked very little! Last night for dinner we had skirt steak and broccoli and french fries. On Wednesday night, we watched the new Modern Family and Minute to Win it! Last night we watched the new Jersey Shore. Charles said he is going to be busy today so he wont come home for lunch. I think I am going to go to the lake then! I can not believe that July is practically over! Boo only 1 month left in Texas!!!

First Weekend in Texas!

Boy did that weekend go fast!! Friday night we just hung around the house with Terence and caught up on True Blood. We have been watching that every single night! I don't know what we are going to do when we are all caught up! Before I got here, I found a dresser on craigslist and asked Charles to pick it up for me. Well Charles decided that he wanted to make it look nicer so he decided to start sanding it so that he could restain it. Once I got here, it was not finished! So on Saturday, I finished sanding it while Charles mowed the lawn, and then we stained it together. It was so easy and we had fun! Saturday night was one of his friend's wifes birthday. We went out to dinner at this brewhouse around here and then we went bowling with Matt, Charles' old housemate and his girlfriend. I was TERRIBLE at bowling but it was still fun! After bowling, we just came back to the house and hung out with Matt and Danelle.

Sunday was very relaxing. We went to mass and then food shopping. We had a list of things to buy, but Charles wanted to walk up and down every aisle. I said that is deadly because we will be buying things we don't need! And of course we bought alot that wasn't necessary. After that we just watched more True Blood, made dinner, and watched more True Blood.

Well it is Monday now and of course Charles doesn't want to go to work! The kitchen is sort of a mess so I just made a pot of coffee, I am going to clean the dishes, and then maybe go for a run! I think I talked to everyone in my family this weekend and even ichatted with some! It was nice to see everyone and talk to everyone!

My life so far...

So it is Wednesday night and so far the week has been very nice and relaxing! I wake up with Charles at 5:45am and he leaves for PT and I go back to bed! I then wake up again at 8am when Charles gets back from PT. He just comes home to eat breakfast and maybe take a shower and then he heads back to work! I have been running errands, bank, post office, food shopping. Today I went to the driving range. Charles, T-bone, and myself are planning on going golfing tomorrow! Yikes I'm nervous! Today I also went to the lake. It is about 20-25 minutes from the house. It was very nice but it was a little sad to see how the children acted and how the parents reacted to the children. We have been watching True Blood at night and catching up on the previous seasons. Tomorrow looks like it is going to be laundry day! The hamper gets fuller faster when 2 people are putting clothes in there!

Home sweet home!

We finally made it to beautiful Killeen, TX. We began the day touring Hot Springs. It was nice to see the Bath houses that are in the town and also the Springs that has water that is 140 degrees. It was hot! We drank it, it was ok. Didn't compare to Poland Springs! There was a fountain that had 3 sprouts and people were filling up water bottles for their house. We asked a lady and she said that she never buys water, she always fills it up from the springs. We then looked in the trunk of her car and it was filled with empty water bottles. We then hiked a short trail, drove up a mountain to see the view from above, and then began the final leg of the trip! We arrived home to Terrence waiting for us with a beautiful sign that said, "Welcome Home Colleen and Charles! Salutations" It was so nice and made out of toilet paper. We emptied out the car and just relaxed and watched tv. The boys gave me some things to do tomorrow. Its garbage day, the house has no food, and Charles does not have many clean Army clothes left. It should be interesting! Day one of being a housewife begins tomorrow!

Memphis and Little Rock

We decided not to wake up early and drive since we were not in much of a rush to get anywhere. All we had planned was going to Memphis to go to a Man vs. Food restaurant and then head to Little Rock or Hot Springs and spend the night there. We got to Memphis and it was a cool town. The blues are all over the place there. We went to the Charlie Vergos Rendezvous restaurant. It is famous for their BBQ ribs. Charles and I enjoyed them but we both decided that we have had better ribs. After we ate, we went to Beale St. which was alot of fun! The street is closed down and there are all bars that play blues and music. We just walked up and down the street because we were going to get back on the road and head to Arkansas. As we were driving, we decided to call hotels to make a reservation for the night. I called about 10 places and they said they were all booked. Charles then said maybe there is something going on, why don't you ask. So the next place I saw, which was booked, said that the Miss Arkansas final night was tonight. So I was so excited because I love Miss America pageants but I was mad because we could not find a hotel. I think by the end, I had called 20 hotels. I did not want to venture to calling Motels. So we decided to say like 30 minutes outside of Hot Springs. It worked out well. After about the 10th hotel, Charles said why don't we use an accent when you call. I guess just to add some fun to the boring calls. I could not hold an accent while Charles was very entertaining to listen to. Our trip is almost over at this point! The windshield is gross from all the bugs!

St. Louis

What a great day/night!! We had plans to do 3 things in St. Louis: go to a Cardinals game, go the the Arch, and go to the Budweiser brewery. When we called to inquire about tickets to the Cardinals game, we were told that military get buy one get one free. Once we got to the stadium, we found out that we could both get 2 free tickets but we had to wait until 5:20pm. So we decided to head to the Arch. The wait was crazy to go to the top of the arch. While we were waiting in line, we decided that we could either go to the Arch or go to the brewery. But we decided that we could do it all! We got a tickets to go to the Arch for 5:40pm. We then took a cab to the brewery, took a tour, had our 2 free tastes, then took a cab to the Cardinals Stadium. We went to a bar nearby because we were early. We then got our 2 free tickets and walked fast to the arch to make the tour. We went to the top, walked around, took some pictures, and then headed back down. We then went into the stadium and tried to find a seat since our tickets were "Standing room only." Well, knowing Charles and I, we love talking to people so we became friends with a very nice older lady who was an usher. Nancy liked us when we told her we were military. Then we told her we were newlyweds and she fell in love with us! She gave us great seats and we had a great time at the game. By the end of the game, Nancy had brought us a bag that had Cardinals gifts in it. We took a picture, we got Nancy's email because she wanted the picture, and then Charles asked her to sign the wiffle ball that she had given us. It was a great day and night in St. Louis
